The 9-Week Corporate Exit Experience, with Willem Gous

You Left Corporate.

Now the Business Needs Different Skills From You

The skill that earned you a salary will not build a business.

For people in the first three years of running their own business. Nine weeks, one to one, to build the skills, the thinking and the perspective a growing business needs. A customer engine you know how to run.

Online, wherever you are in the world

You made the jump. The business exists. It is not growing like you thought it would.

You get a customer every now and then. Or worse, one BIG client pays most of your income. If they leave, you have nothing.

The question is no longer whether you can do the work you were hired to do. You already know how.

It is whether you have become the person a growing business needs behind it. When you were employed you had a job. Show up. Do it well. Go home. Now you are required to show up, do the work, do the management, do the marketing, and the sales.

That is a different person. Becoming that person is the work now.

Ask yourself: Is most of your work still coming from people who knew you before you left? Where will next month's money come from?

Five Ways a Business Gets Stuck

Maybe you are working harder than you ever did in the job. Maybe the days blur together. Maybe you are wondering if you missed something.

Different shapes, same place.

Five common ways a business gets stuck in the first two years. Most owners are running one of these without knowing.

Build more

Design a fancier process. Sketch a new service. Add another automation. Get the website right. Feels like progress. Nothing new comes in.

Market more

Boost the posts. Run the ads. Redesign the funnel. Marketing does not make money. Sales make money. How did you meet your wife or your husband? Through a flyer? An advert? A post? No. Through a conversation. Customers start the same way.

Learn more

Buy another course. Watch another video. Read another book. You do not know enough yet, you tell yourself. None of it brings a customer this week.

Bring somebody in

Find a partner to do the parts you do not want to do. The talking. The offering. The being told no. It holds for a while. Then it collapses. They see who is bringing the work in, and who is not.

Do the work

Keep doing what you were paid to do in the job. Wait for customers to notice you. Wonder why the business stays flat.

All five look different.

All five are the same thing.

You are protecting the person you were.

The 9-Week Corporate Exit Experience

Just the two of us. We start with where the business is, and where you are inside it. From there, the customer engine. Not a marketing funnel. Not another automation. A way of finding, offering, and hearing yes that you know how to run, week after week.

This is not a delivery of information, but a process of transformation. Here is what you walk away with.

Clarity on what to focus on and what to drop

A way to bring the work in, on purpose, not by luck

A simple targeted offer, sharpened by what real customers tell you

The parts you have been avoiding, done on purpose every week with me beside you, until they become your skill

No more relying on the last referral for the next month

A clear answer at the end: fix it, focus it, or rebuild it

You leave with a skill, not a dependency. When the nine weeks end, we build a 90-day plan together so you can run this yourself. Working with me afterwards is there if you want it. It is never a requirement.

Nine weeks. It has a start and it has an end. That is on purpose. Long enough to become someone new. Short enough to feel every week.

This is Not for Everyone

Better to say this now than halfway through a call.

This is not for you if the business needs cash coming in this month or next.

Nine weeks is not fast enough for that.

This is not for you if what you want is one more course, one more framework, one more system.

There is nothing here you can read or watch your way through.

This is not for you if you are looking for somebody to bring the customers in for you.

That was the pattern that got you here.

This is not for you if you do not actually want to change.

The business needs a different you. If that is not what you want, this is not it.

My first business started in 1999. Twenty seven years ago.

Since then I have built businesses in manufacturing, in IT, and in the creative industries. Made things. Sold things. Learned most of it the hard way. Nothing about the first two years is a surprise from here.

Three books along the way, and a Master's degree at the University of Liverpool. Companies like HSBC, Samsung, UNESCO, Sanlam, Barloworld and WeWork South Africa have brought me in to work with their people. A seat on the EntreEd advisory committee. A professional membership of PSASA. Also a certificate saying I am qualified to teach people to walk across hot coals. Odd thing to own. Useful thing to know about fear.

Then I took the whole method into South African townships, to find out whether it still works when a person has nothing at all to fall back on.

It does.

None of this came from theory.

Where this Work was Born

The method comes from my impact work, where I help unemployed people start a profitable business in 5 weeks without external funding, by changing how they think.

That is my non-profit, The Human Entrepreneur, and it is where this method was tested first, on people who had no room to get it wrong.

Now look at what you bring. Years of knowing your subject. People who take your call. A business already in your hands.

If the method does that from nothing, what does nine weeks do for someone with all of that?

What People Say

"Willem has the ability to cut your business to the bone and heal it from the inside. If you need to go on a business journey, there is none other than Willem Gous."

What This Asks of You

You do the work, and you are not alone in it. How well this goes depends on you. We do it together, and the heavy lifting is yours. That is how it becomes your skill.

Some things will change. There will be reading, and time to think. Along the way you will notice a few habits that served you well in a job but do not serve a business. Changing them is part of the work, and it is often where the biggest shifts happen.

Honest feedback, given with care. It would be easy to tell you only what you want to hear. It would also do you no good. So when I see something holding you back, I will say so, kindly and clearly, because I am on your side.

My role is to stand next to you, not in front of you. To be there while you run into the challenges, the fears, and what is standing in your own way. When we hit them together, we find the solutions together.

More importantly, you learn how to find them. You take away the ability to see it, sort it, act on it, adjust when it goes wrong, and keep going. ALL without me.

If that sounds like the help you are looking for, let's talk.

Questions People Ask

How is this different from what I have already tried?

Books, courses and workshops all deliver information. This is a process of transformation. Nine weeks of you doing the actual work, next to someone who has done it themselves for twenty seven years.

I do not have money for another programme.

Fair. Ask yourself what staying stuck has cost you already, and what another year of it will cost. If the answer is more than this programme, it is a good investment. If not, we should not talk.

I do not have time.

Then this is exactly what you need. The busy that never stops is one of the patterns above. Eighteen to twenty hours across the nine weeks with me, planned around what you already have on. If those hours are not there, this is not the right time.

I am not an entrepreneur.

Most people who say that have never been shown a safe way in. If you are senior and good at your job, the question is almost never whether you can do it. It is whether there is a way across that does not wreck everything.

What happens after the nine weeks?

You leave with a skill, not a dependency. You know how to find customers, make the offer and adjust when something does not work, again and again, on your own. Working with me afterwards is there if you want it. It is never a requirement.

Why you?

Twenty seven years of my own businesses. Startup Coach of the Year 2025. Nine weeks with me, one to one, not a group and not a course. And the method has already worked with people who had less than you have now.

Want To Do This? Take The Next Step

If you want the business to grow, it needs a different you first.

You are still here. The business is still here. That is the whole advantage. Use it.

Send me a WhatsApp and tell me where the business is right now. We talk it through properly, and you walk away knowing your next move.

Programme Capacity: No more than eight people at a time, one to one.
